Green Movement and Earth Day celebration

THE OFFICE GURUS strives to be Eco-conscious.  Our office is nearly paperless.  Our company participates in recycling, promoting energy efficiency, and water and paper conservation.  We believe strongly in caring for our planet, and we exemplify this in our day-to-day activities.  We also celebrate Earth Day by inviting our employees to participate in tree planting.

Employee and Family Wellness

THE OFFICE GURUS and FUDEM work together to provide free eye exams and low cost glasses for our employees and their families once each year.  All employees who express interest are eligible for free eye exams.  If the examination determines that the employee needs glasses, the plan permits them to pay for the glasses over time.

Free Oral health Campaign for our employees and their families

THE OFFICE GURUS and Centro Clinico de Salud Bucal work together to provide free oral examinations and discounts for oral treatments. This benefit is offered to employees and their families. The services provided are: orthodontic, dental examinations, tooth extractions, dental cleaning and fluoride applications. These consultations are provided at our annual Oral Fair.

In House English Program

THE OFFICE GURUS provides enhanced English training opportunities to all employees.  This program, called The Guru English Program, evaluates the English skills of those wishing to participate, and then directs them to the appropriate level of training; basic, intermediate or advanced.  English skills are an important part of the career path for our employees.  Requesting and participating in this training allows us to judge an employee’s commitment, while providing them with a valuable benefit.

Supermarket goods at low prices

Foalimento is a foundation that works with companies who donate products and then they sell the products at a lower price than typical supermarkets.  The profits from these sales are used to provide food and other consumables for the poor and others who are in need.  THE OFFICE GURUS employees can order food from Foalimento, who delivers the products directly to them.  Through this benefit our employees are able to get more for their money, while providing help to a less fortunate part of the community.

Mothers and Fathers Day

THE OFFICE GURUS is a family oriented company. Many of our employees are mothers or fathers. At THE OFFICE GURUS, we celebrate International Mother and Fathers Day by recognizing the parents amongst our staff.

We provide a special lunch and gift to recognize the Mothers and Fathers working with the company.  We also provide our Mothers and Fathers with training on family issues like early learning, discipline, and positive relationships within the family.  We provide these programs as a way of acknowledging the sacrifices of working parents and to encourage a healthy family life, which contributes to a more positive workplace.

Food Vendors Program

Our Vendors Program is a program that creates interaction with the local community by bringing local food vendors on campus.  The vendors are able to provide food and snacks during breakfast, lunch and dinner.  This program allows us to support local small businesses, while providing our employees with diverse options and lower costs in buying meals and snacks on site.

Birthday Celebrations

Once a quarter, THE OFFICE GURUS celebrates the birthdays of THE OFFICE GURUS employees.  We provide cake and ice cream for the employees born during the quarter, and invite all employees to join in celebrating their teammates

Sports Tournaments

We believe that a healthy employee is a happier and more productive employee.  THE OFFICE GURUS sponsors various tournaments and sporting activities during the year.  The activities are coed and all employees are welcome to participate.  Actives include table tennis (singles and doubles), soccer and basketball.  Winners and runner-ups are awarded trophies and other prizes and the activities are promoted within the company as team building exercises and motivators.  The athletic events also help to introduce the company to the community at large.

International Women’s Day

THE OFFICE GURUS acknowledges the accomplishments of women both in and out of the workplace by celebrating International Women's Day.  As an organization with great diversity in the workforce, we have an opportunity to celebrate in a unique way by first encouraging our own employees to celebrate the accomplishments of their peers.  Every employee is also encouraged to nominate and vote for a candidate that they believe deserves attention as either a friend, mother, wife, sister or professional. Prizes are awarded for 1st-3rd place.

Children International Day celebration

Children are also an important part of THE OFFICE GURUS family.  As part of the worldwide celebrations of International Day of the Child, THE OFFICE GURUS offers a day of activities for the children of THE OFFICE GURUS employees.  Activities include piñatas, cake and ice cream, and various games and activities.

Donation Program

THE OFFICE GURUS is aware that natural disasters can occur.  That is why we try to sensitize our employees to help those who need it the most either with groceries or clothing.  We do not only focus on critical moments, we also try to help the needy on special dates such as Christmas by giving toys to children.

Our Parent Company's Commitment

Our parent company, Superior Uniform Group, also has a strong commitment to social responsibility.  Superior donates new clothing to people in need and new health care apparel to hospital patients and healthcare workers.  To date we have provided clothing to more than 100,000 people as well as uniforms to thousands of health care workers.
